Humble Bundle’s Support During Earth Month Boosts Coral Guardian’s Restoration Efforts

Humble Bundle, a digital storefront known for offering video games, books, and software, is equally celebrated for its dedication to philanthropy. In 2023, they embarked on a meaningful partnership with Coral Guardian, supporting our coral restoration project in Indonesia.

With several solidarity activations last year, including two DLC activations with the game Coral Island from Stairway Games, they enabled the restoration of 4,100 corals in Hatamin island. Their efforts also allowed us to educate 169 local schoolchildren by providing English classes and raising awareness about marine ecosystems, and to support our team of 8 local people, ensuring the project’s longevity.

Celebrating Earth Month: Expanding Our Global Impact

This April, Coral Guardian was in the spotlight as part of Humble’s Earth Month activations.  These exceptional efforts raised over €250,000 in donations, propelling our coral restoration efforts to new heights over the next two years. With Humble’s support, we will: 

Indonesia:

• Transplant over 17,000 corals and grow the restored reef areas. 
• Continue to raise awareness and provide English classes to over 200 local children in primary schools in Labuan Bajo and Seraya Besar. 

Spain:

• Clean up 3,500 kg of debris from the seabed and complete the restoration of the Punta de la Mona seabeds.
• Initiate awareness-raising programs reaching 15,000 people and aimed both at fishing professionals and schools to foster systemic change.

Kenya:

• Protect over 50 hectares of reefs for two years and restore at least 10,000 corals. 
• Enable a significant return of biodiversity, at least doubling the number of fish to the area, ensuring the resilience and food safety of the local fishing community.
