Hi Imaculada! Can you present yourself briefly?

Hi! I am Imaculada T.M.K. Hane. I am from Indonesia- flores. I live in Labuan Bajo and I am an English teacher for the children in Labuan Bajo.

How did you hear about Coral Guardian in the first place?
.
I heard that Coral Guardian was very helpful to people on Seraya island. It is special for the fishermen.

Why did you decide to learn English?
.
I learned English because it’s very helpful and very important for my future.
.
Do you think children on your island enjoy learning English?
.
Yes, I think that the children really enjoy learning English. Why? Because they are always on time and very active during the teaching process.

How old are the children you teach? .
.
They are 7 – 14 years old.

Why do you think it is important for children to learn English on your island?
Because Labuan Bajo is one of the world tourism destinations.

How do you teach the children?
.
I prepare material that is suitable for their age. Ex: vocabulary, sentences and basic English.
And I teach them by using pictures, singing, writing on the whiteboard and texts.

What does the ocean mean to you?
.
The ocean is a place that is very beneficial to human life and nature.
And there is a lot of wealth in it, such as fish, coral reefs and plants.

What is your favourite colour of fish and of coral?
.
My favourite colour of fish are: red grouper and red snapper. And for coral, I like the blue and the red one.
